We have purchase many of these for our kids, and now buy them for any friends who are having their first child. These are much bigger than normal ones, and make swaddling much easier, and the swaddle lasts much longer, as it is harder for the baby to accidentally wiggle free. The wear well, wash easily and feel very soft. Dont waste your time or money on smaller receiveing blankets, as they dont work as well as this does.

They're large enough for a good swaddle, they're a wonderful light-to-medium thickness that doesn't seem too hot even in warmer months, they're very soft, and they're beautiful. Ours traveled everywhere with our infant until we stopped swaddling her, and now we use them in her stroller etc.
