The Transitional Swaddle Sack® features unique arms up sleeves with foldover mitten cuffs that may be worn open or closed. It’s convertible and easy to use, and an important innovation for babies who can roll over, because it allows baby to use his or her arms to push up to reposition their head.

The Transitional Swaddle Sack is designed to bridge the gap from snug swaddle to loose fitting sleeping sack.  When baby is ready to transition from classic snug swaddling, but not yet ready for a sleeveless wearable blanket, the Transitional Swaddle Sack is a great option to (1) keep baby snug and warm, (2) allow baby the use of his or her arms, and (3) allow baby to self-soothe by sucking on his or her hands.

The Transitional Swaddle Sack is the ideal transition swaddle with partial suppression of the Moro (Startle) Reflex. The arms up sleeve design is a safer sleep option, because if baby rolls over, the design allows baby to use his or her arms to lift baby’s torso and reposition his or her head to get access to air.

The Transitional Swaddle Sack is perfect for babies who prefer to sleep with arms up. The Transitional Swaddle Sack supports baby in a natural sleep position helping baby feel secure and sleep better, and our design is recognized as Hip Healthy because it allows room for baby's knees and hips to flex.

It’s easy to use. For best suppression of the Moro reflex fold the mitten cuffs closed and then simply place baby in the sack and zip up! The Transitional Swaddle Sack features a 2-way zipper so diaper changes are easy, just unzip from the foot to access the diaper.

The uniquely shaped arms up ¾-length sleeves are not full length, so baby’s arms will be close to body when mitten cuffs are closed for swaddle snugness. The foldover Mitten Cuffs may be worn open or closed, parents can open one or both cuffs, so baby can self-soothe, or close the cuffs to protect baby from facial scratches. Babies who can self-soothe are calmer and sleep better. If you pull the baby’s arms all the way through the sleeves, the sleeves will be at elbow length and will provide less suppression of the Moro Reflex.

The ergonomic design features a snug midsection to provide swaddle-like support and snugness to reassure and comfort baby.

Our baby started using this one around 3 months, he didn't like being swaddled at that point and he was starting to use his hands to self soothe. He loves this thing, he slept so well in it with a short sleeve onesie. Our baby ran warm at night so I this was helpful, not too thing or thick. I wish I would have bought two since we used it everyday.

Must have if you enjoy sleeping

This is the best swaddle sack for when your baby still needs something to help them feel secure and calm the startle reflex but are out of the newborn phase where they need arms free incase the baby might roll over in their sleep. My baby still sleeps in it every night at 6 months old and she rolls like crazy in her crib and has full use of her arms in it, I uncuff the mittens so her hands are free and she sleeps so much better when in this vs. Nothing at all.

Great Product!

I successfully used this to transition my daughter from a velcro swaddle. I bought a medium and started using it when she was 2 months. It was a little big/loose at first but that wasn't an issue. I saw another review state that the arms are too short when the mittens are used, this is on purpose so that the arms are kept restricted more than regular sleeves. The short restricted sleeves keeps their arms in a little T-Rex arm position. This gives baby more mobility than the traditional swaddle. It allows them to bring their hands to their face but at the same helps restrict those flailing startle reflex arms. My daughter's 'tell' that she's sleepy is when she rubs her face with her hands, and when she's falling asleep in her crib she rubs her face too. These mitten arm cuffs are perfect for that. She can rub her face with her mitten hands and not scratch herself or accidentally rip out her paci. She still sometimes knocks out her paci of course, but not as much as she does when her hands are out of the mittens. She's now 5 months and we're still using this for every nap and every night. I kinda wish I'd bought two because sometimes I'm rushed to wash it between nap times. At this point though she's almost outgrown it so I'm making do with the one. She sometimes rolls over on her stomach, but this has not stopped her from being able to put her arms underneath her. All and all this is one of the best baby gear purchases I've made.
